Auditions Episode 3/6: The Selected

Votes shown in brackets after artist's name, where known (in the order LW DM CC SC). Song choices (where known) are given with original performing artist - as in most cases the performer puts their own spin on it anyway. Artists are colour-coded according to their category: Boys (16-24), Girls (16-24), Over 25s, and Groups.

Lucie Jones (YYYY)
Definitely a good voice especially at her age, and I agree with the judges about her vulnerability shining through, the best of the episode.
CC: "Right, I actually loved the vulnerability in your performance, 'cause it makes me think that you don't realise actually how amazing you are. I think... I think you're one to watch Lucie, I think you could be absolutely amazing, I think you could sing anything."
LW: "Some people were absolutely born to sing. You were born to sing, you tick all the boxes and I predict everything's going to change for you from this day on."
SC: "Lucie, this is why we come to Wales. One of the hardest songs in the world to sing, you didn't try and impersonate Whitney, you sang it your way, you're really likeable Lucie, you're really really good, I like you."
SC: "Like her."
CC: "Well done babe, that was really amazing."
(Song choice: Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You)

Lloyd Daniels (YYYY)
Has a sort of indie feel to him, good voice but clearly very nervous so could be even better.
LW: "Lloyd, yeah I mean you look absolutely scared up there, but I think with a bit of work you could be absolutely great."
CC: "You look like a little pop star, I think the girls absolutely adore you."
DM: "Lloyd, you've got a very, very distinctive voice, and you took the nerves, but you put them into the performance."
CC: "I think you're the first person I'm gonna say 'You've got the X Factor' to."
(Song choice: Jason Mraz - I'm Yours)
(Second song: R Kelly - If I Could Turn Back The Hands Of Time)

Jade Fubara (YYYY)
Pretty good, standard soul-singing voice, can't tell at this stage if she would be really great or not.
CC: "Seventeen years old. That is what you call some raw amazing talent, that was absolutely incredible."
LW: "Every now and again somebody like you comes into a competition like this and makes it all so worth while."
LW: "Jade, this is what The X Factor is all about."
SC: "Jade, I predict good things for you."
LW: "Wow."
SC: "Unbelievable."
DM: "Amazing natural."
(Song choice: Jennifer Holliday - And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going)

Daniel Williams (YYYY)
Just normal likeable guy, similar style to Eoghan but better voice.
LW: "I think you're very good. Well what do you think?"
SC: "What, what... what sort of record would this guy make?"
LW: "A middle of the road, kind of Michael Ball, that type of... for Mummies and Daddies."
SC: "Michael Ball?"
LW: "Michael Ball, yeah. I think you're very good."
DM: "Yeah."
(Song choice: The Beatles - Let It Be)

Ashanti Webbe (YYYY)
She was okay, nothing that special, but certainly not a bad voice.
SC: "I mean, I'm not... I'm not jumping out of my chair here. I don't feel any confidence from you particularly."
CC: "I actually really enjoyed it."
LW: "But Simon she was good!"
SC: "How do you know?"
LW: "I heard her! You're just in grumpy form!"
SC: "No I'm not."
DM: "You are."
LW: "You are grumpy."
DM: "You are."
SC: "No, I'm trying to be realistic here."
DM: "You are."
LW: "You're always grumpy in Wales."
DM: "You are grumpy."
SC: "No I'm not."
DM: "You are."
LW: "You are."
DM: "You are!"
(Song choice: Rose Royce - I'm Going Down)
