Auditions Episode 4/6: The Selected

Votes shown in brackets after artist's name, where known (in the order LW DM CC SC). Song choices (where known) are given with original performing artist - as in most cases the performer puts their own spin on it anyway. Artists are colour-coded according to their category: Boys (16-24), Girls (16-24), Over 25s, and Groups.

Rikki Loney (YYYY)
Best of the episode, really good performer, second only to Danyl, what can I say?
SC: "Thank you."
LW: "I love the fact that you've come back fighting even better this year. I think you've got an amazing voice, you've got a great personality and I love your determination to win; you've got the X Factor to me."
DM: "Rikki, your mum's going to be so proud of that. So proud. God, that was fantastic. Yep."
CC: "D'you know what, I think you've got to be so brave to be knocked down and criticised and turned away and then come back again. I thought it was fantastic."
SC: "Rikki, I always think about this, you know when we.. we're in a situation like we were last year, did we make a mistake or not. After hearing that I think we did make a big mistake with you last year. I do. Having said that Rikki, that was you at 65, 70 per cent in my opinion. I still think you're better than this."
LW: "Rikki, I think this is your time to shine."
DM: "Rikki, thanks for coming back."
CC: "Definitely deserve another chance."
SC: "Rikki, you could be Scotland's highest hope in the competition."
SC: "Well done."
SC: "We made a big mistake with him didn't we?"
LW: "I honestly think he's good Simon."
DM: "No I think he's completely different this year than last year."
(Song choice: Otis Redding - These Arms Of Mine)

Shanna Goodhead (YYYN)
Quite like Alexandra but with a different kind of personality. Good.
DM: "You first came out, you're nervous but it seemed like you were sad. And you want this so badly to change your life. I want you to know how good you are at singing and how much these people love you."
LW: "Shanna, you're only eighteen, you've got an incredible soulful voice, I don't think you realise how good you are going to be. I think you've got amazing potential and I'm really glad you came today."
CC: "Shanna, d'you know what, you have got a really natural raw talent there. And to think with a little bit of work what you could be like if that's what you've already got naturally is mind-blowing. And I think that was a great audition."
SC: "Shanna, you know look, I'm nervous about your self-belief, because I think that... sweetheart, I didn't get that from you."
LW: "Shanna, you are what this show's about: we're looking for somebody with potential, you've definitely got the potential."
LW: "She's great. Vocal - it's in. She's great."
LW: "This girl is raw talent. And she's got the X Factor."
(Song choice: Fleetwood Mac - Songbird)

Jaide Green
Very good from the small clip shown.
LW: "I think you're a born performer."
(Song choice: The Crusaders - Street Life)

The Secrets
Great harmony, sounds great but only a small clip shown.
CC: "Keep doing what you're doing girls."
(Song choice: Sam Sparro - Black And Gold)

Olly Murs (YYYY)
Great performer, good dancer, pretty good voice, perhaps doesn't quite deserve the superlatives applied to him though.
CC: "Wow, you've got some soul in your voice haven't you Olly? Very impressive. Loved the moves, I loved everything about it, I think you're a natural born entertainer."
DM: "You have the whole package. You're a super, superstar."
SC: "Olly, I've gotta tell you, I really, really like you. And you know what, you're very very very cool."
LW: "Hey, you're a natural performer."
SC: "I gotta tell you Olly, this is the easiest 'yes' I've ever given."
LW: "Thank you ever so. Thanks for that."
SC: "I really, really like that guy."
(Song choice: Stevie Wonder - Superstition)

Heshima Thompson
Passionate performer, well above average voice
LW: "We think you've got more potential than you even think you have."
(Song choice: The Script - Breakeven)

Alistair Nwachukwu
Has a unique voice, good performer too.
CC: "Everything about it was great."
(Song choice: Michael Jackson - The Way You Make Me Feel)

Lydia Kabasele
She seemed to have a good smooth voice, but not a confident performer, only a small clip shown
SC: "I think you are really really talented Lydia."
LW: "You're seventeen years old, and you're singing Whitney, and it just seemed effortless."
(Song choice: Whitney Houston - Saving All My Love For You)

William Hooper (YYYN)
Good voice for his style of music, not appropriate for this competition.
LW: "William, you're 82 years, you're a charming man, you're a born entertainer, and you've got lots of energy - I hope I look like you when I'm 82, I really really do."
SC: "Right, try next year!"
LW: "What are you saying?"
DM: "William, you look great, you performed it and presented the songs, no nerves, none whatsoever, you've got the X Factor I think."
CC: "You're a showbiz man and I enjoyed your audition."
SC: "William, look, I like you, but... but I wasn't crazy about your singing voice."
LW: "Simon he's 82!"
SC: "Doesn't matter how old you are, it's still about your singing voice Louis."
SC: "You are so soppy you."
LW: "Oh, come on."
(Song choice: Frank Sinatra - Come Fly With Me)

Eliotte Williams-N'Dure
Seems average, but again only a small clip shown
(Song choice: Prince - How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore)

Yellow Brick Road
I actually didn't think they were that good but only saw a couple of seconds of them
(Song choice: Lady Gaga - Poker Face)
